GORE-TEX footwear keeps feet dry, warm and protected by being durably waterproof and breathable. It is an engineered system which provides optimized climate comfort. All components included in the footwear's construction are geared towards maximum performance and are subjected to regular quality inspections. Different climate conditions, changing operational requirements and work levels place demands which only GORE-TEX can satisfy.
GORE-TEX footwear helps to ensure that feet stay dry and pleasantly warm. The ideal physiological temperature range for feet is between 28-32 degrees Celsius. Good body temperature regulation is crucial to general health, fitness and comfort and therefore its influence on endurance, stamina and performance is decisive. If the balance of the mechanism which regulates body temperature is disturbed , the body tires more easily and you become more prone to illness. Cold feet reduce the blood flow in the nose and throat, making the body more susceptible to infections. GORE-TEX membrane ensures that boots are completely waterproof. GORE-TEX prevents water penetrating boots when working in wet outdoor environments. At the same time it is permeable to water vapour, transporting moisture away from the foot. Particularly strenuous work can result in up to 250ml of perspiration from the feet every day; GORE-TEX ensures that your feet are dry, comfortably warm and hygienic, preventing the stress that results from extremes of cold and heat.
What makes GORE-TEX better than other membranes. Gore has developed a number of tests to ensure that all footwear featuring GORE-TEX membrane delivers the promise it makes when the footwear is worn on a daily basis. However, Gore wants to ensure that footwear featuring GORE-TEX not only does this , but the results must prove that using GORE-TEX membrane achieves results which are better than other footwear using different membranes in the same category.
Waterproof The GORE in-house flex test requires that every boot with GORE-TEX membrane withstands at least 300,000 flex cycles, equivalent to walking a distance of at least 300Km. The flex test is in water 50mm deep. The inside lining of the boot must remain absolutely dry throughout the test. Also leakage tests in a p purpose built Gore centrifuges constantly control daily production ensuring every single boot is totally waterproof.
Breathable Again Gore set the highest possible standards for footwear manufacture utilizing GORE-TEX membrane. Only companies manufacturing to the highest quality standards can wear the GORE-TEX label. They must use the highest quality uppers which support their breathability function to the best effect, ensuring that sufficient water vapour can be transported out of the boot. Gore's whole boot comfort test, which tests the whole boot rather than simply the individual components helps to maintain Gore's exceptionally high standards.
