Panther Carbon Fibre Climbing Spikes Description

The hook is the main piece of support. They are the perfect mix of strength and lightweight because they are made of carbon fibre. The pair as a whole weighs 1500 grams.

The second piece of evidence is the three different kinds of gaffs. All of them are made of alloy steel (Cr, Ni, Mo). After the threads are cut and the gaffs are heated and cooled to a hardness of 1000–1200 MPa, they are attached to the hook with two M8 screws. These screws are tightened to 25N/m, and a layer of glue is put on them to keep them from coming loose on their own. The gaffs are made so that the leather or synthetic strap can be pulled through the hole. This keeps the ankle area of the foot stable. Because the base is straight up and down, the grinding angle is 30°. The gaffs were also tested in the same lab, and up to 650 kg, they didn't bend or break in a noticeable way. At higher values, up to 1000 kg, the tip of the spike is permanently bent, but it doesn't break.

The shell is the third part. It's made of several layers of glass fabric and a strip of carbon fabric to make it stronger. Because it has holes in it, this support can be moved to suit the needs of the user. The hook holds the shell in place with two M6 screws. With the help of Velcro, the calf support pad is attached to this shell. This is shaped along its length to give the user the most comfort.

The leg is attached to the hook with a synthetic strap.
