Stihl Smart Connector Description
STIHL connected is a smart way to keep track of your tools and quickly and easily take care of their repair and service. To take advantage of our connected technology, our Smart Connectors are made to be attached to your tools. They will keep track of how long your tools have been running and send that information to our STIHL connected app via Bluetooth(R). STIHL connected can be used in two different ways, depending on whether you are using your tools professionally or in your own yard.
STIHL connected for home gardeners
If you like to plant at home, you can attach a smart connector to your tools so that you can quickly open the connected app and see at a glance when the next service is due. The machine's service schedule will also be shown to you. You don't have to look back at the Instruction Manual, and it will put you in touch with a STIHL Approved Dealer right away so you can schedule a service. It's a good way to keep track of your tools' serial numbers, and you can even use the connections to track run times on tools that aren't made by STIHL.
STIHL connected for professionals
The place where STIHL connected really shines is at work. Using the smart connectors and the connected Pro Portal, you can keep a full digital record of all of your tools. This is great for service and repair, but it also lets you keep track of which tools are used when and for how long. This is also very helpful if you want to buy new tools. Also, at the end of the day, you can see which tools are close. This is helpful if you want to make sure that all the tools have been taken back to the depot.
If you have any of the following AP System professional battery tools, you'll need to use the Smart Connector 2A: MSA 300 Chainsaw, BGA 300 Blower, KMA 135 R Kombi tool, HLA 135 long reach hedgetrimmer, FSA 135 and FSA 135 R brushcutters, HTA 135 pole pruner, HSA 130 R and HSA 130 T hedge trimmers, or RGA 140 brushcutter. These tools can only be used with the Smart Connector 2A. They won't work with the regular Smart Connector. Here is more information about the Smart Connector 2A.
STIHL connected makes it easy to control and maintain your tools, whether you are a home gardener or a professional with a whole fleet.
Stihl Smart Connector Features
HOW IS STIHL CONNECTED USED?
A: It's not hard at all. First, get the STIHL Connected app from the Apple App Store or Google Play and create an account. The next step is to open the app and set up your machines. You'll be asked what product you want to join. You can connect some of the latest STIHL products by scanning the QR code on the machine. If there isn't a QR code, you'll have to type in the model number and serial number by hand. You'll need to add the STIHL Smart Connector to your machine at this point. Again, for most new STIHL products, a model-specific movie in the app will show you how to do this. If there isn't a video, the Smart Connector should be put anywhere the sensor can identify an electrical current. The app should now be set up for your goods.
WHAT DOES THE APP SHOW?
A: Then you'll be able to see a full list of all your machines, their current state, and when they need to be serviced. You'll also be able to see what machines are "Nearby" to your device using Bluetooth.
WHO DOES THE STIHL CONNECTED PORTAL SERVE?
A: The site is made for professional users who need to keep track of a lot of tools.
WHAT DOES THE PORTAL SHOW?
A: The portal has a dashboard that shows a lot of information, such as work times, how productive machines are, how long they've been running, where the last product was found, upcoming maintenance and repairs, and the state of tools.
